Enhancement Medals allow characters to gain extra attributes. These can be gained through obtaining a costume more than once or completing Character Missions. 3 Enhancement Medals can be applied to a costume, and are exclusive to that costume once added.

Location and Usage[]

Medals-section

The medals bar is located on the bottom of each skin in the hero costumes tab accessible from the hero menu. Adding or changing medals requires one hero or free medal.

Hero medals can only be used for the hero it is for and is obtained in the hero gacha, free medals can be used freely on anyone. When rolling for medals, hero medals will be prioritized first before free medals.

Tapping on the medal slots will bring up a menu displaying the details of the medal you tapped, along with the amount of medals you own (top for hero medals and bottom for free medals). You have the option of rerolling your medals until you obtained your desired color, plus mark bonus, and effect.

Medals-menu

There is a bonus option of rolling ten medals at once, as shown in the small check box below your medal count. It will automatically stop if the roll lands on a +3 medal during the ten rolls. Only use this method if you do not want to waste time on tapping the medal each time you want to change it or if you are only seeking on maximizing your existing medal bonuses.

Tips for Choosing Medals[]

Best medals for most heroes:

  • AtkMedal Attack Increase
  • MedalIcon004 Movement Speed Increase

Medals that are also useful but not as valuable as the above:

  • MedalIcon002 Defense Increase
  • MedalIcon003 Health Increase
  • MedalIcon006 Skill Charge Increase

Medals that can be used for specific builds and can provide decent utility:

  • MedalIcon007 Portal Capture Increase
  • MedalIcon005 Card Cooldown reduction
  • MedalIcon011 Stun Reduction

When choosing which medals to go for, for any hero, MedalIcon004 Movement Speed Increase is generally the best medal to have on them, as having a hero walk faster is something that can greatly help you to run away faster and get back to your team when you come back from spawn.

AtkMedal Attack Increase medals benefits any offensive heroes (heroes with high dps, heroes with large attack range (ex: gunners), or heroes with high attack stat multiplier) and is also a medal people generally look for to get more damage output.

Any medals outside of the two above are likely medals you may use when you are trying to roll for your desired plus mark and color or for specific heroes. The explanations here are not definitive of every situation and playstyle, but is here to guide and provide a frame of reference to see which medals best suit your needs with your desired hero.

For heroes with high defense stat multipliers, MedalIcon002 Defense Increase can also be something you can consider. Heroes like Justice, Alice, or Violetta can defend longer from auto attacks and non pierce cards with added defense. Along with cards that boost high defense stats, these medals will absolutely make one the tankiest hero alive.

For heroes with high health multipliers, mostly tanks, the added MedalIcon003 Health Increase can help you stay alive just a little longer. It helps especially with deck builds that boost a lot of health stats.

For heroes with a really long hero skill charge time, MedalIcon006 Skill Charge Increase can help you charge your hero skill (HS) gauge faster so you are not bound to your portal keys to charge it. This medal is actually quite niche but for heroes such as Luciano and Dizzy for example, the faster your HS charge, the quicker it is for you to assist your teammates, however, as these heroes have powerful hero skills, the enemy team may stop you from getting it charged with various methods (ex: standing on your portal keys). It is generally advised to get medals that can help with team play offensively or defensively, but, being able to use your hero skill faster is not a bad thing, generally speaking.

MedalIcon007 Portal Capture Increase, MedalIcon005 Card Cooldown reduction, and MedalIcon011 Stun Reduction medals tend to vary on usage and most heroes might not use them at all save for specific circumstances.

For MedalIcon007 Portal Capture Increase, it can help in the instance where you are looking to stealthily capture the enemy key or to capture a key faster. It reduces the amount of time it takes to shrink key portal area and in time sensitive plays, can ensure a last second win. However, the chances of being able to do so does get slimmer as you get better at the game, which means that the chances of being able to to a sneak win is very rare, especially on certain maps. It is a good support type medal for the team as being able to capture a key faster will lead to being able to pull the enemy away from the battle to protect their own keys. You may be able to find it useful for some tanks and sprinters. It also pairs well with Dizzy's passive.

For MedalIcon005 Card Cooldown reduction, the utility is quite niche but benefits those who use cards with a really long cooldown time (ex: door). However, cards with such a long cooldown are few and the reduction isn't huge so you may find that it might not change the feel of the game too much. But, being able to cast a card again faster is always beneficial.

For MedalIcon011 Stun Reduction, its use its likely the most niche out of the three listed in the section. Players favor the use of stun cards which will immobilize a hero and make them unable to do anything for the duration of that stun and very few heroes can negate stuns from cards normally. For heroes that tend to take the brunt of attacks, such as Gustav, whom players commonly will not use shield cards on him, and most tanks, this medal will help with being able to get back up their feet. This also reduces the amount of time you are stunned from hero skills as well.

But despite so, it is better to utilize on the heroes strengths than their weaknesses. It can be rather situational in some cases. Anything outside of the medals mentioned are medals that do not help with the gameplay at all and are generally medals you have to get rid of right away.

Some heroes may experience difficulty with handling or with certain medals, may be wasted on them. For instance, too many speed medals on Reiya makes it harder for him to turn corners as he is a sprinter who has a large turn curve. Trying to increase health on heroes such as Coquelicot will not help much at all due to their low health multiplier. Having hero skill charge increase might not benefit heroes who already charge their skill guage fast as is, like Kirara.

When considering how much of which medal to roll, most will say make all 3 of one type or 2 of one type and 1 of the other type of all the same color (ex: 2 speed medals + 1 attack medal and vice versa).
