Limit Breaking is a mechanic in #COMPASS that allows you to strengthen your cards past their initial maximum level. This can only be accomplished when you have a certain number of duplicates of the card, in which case it will begin glowing green on the Card screen.

To Limit Break a card, simply raise its level to maximum and a new prompt will appear in place of the leveling buttons if the correct conditions are met (enough of the same card). Pressing this will add a +1 (up to +4) on the top left of the card and increase its maximum level by 10. Note: Cards are not consumed when limit breaking. Your card count will never decrease (unless you exchange cards for UR Selection Tickets).

The number of cards required to Limit Break depends on the rarity of the card itself, becoming lower as the rarity increases due to the lower drop rate of the rarer cards. The number of cards needed is as follows:

Rarity +1 +2 +3 +4
N 20 60 340 960
R 15 45 245 645
SR 5 15 60 140
UR 2 5 11 20

The numbers in the table below relate to how much Card Energy is required to get a card to a specific level.

Rarity Lv 20 Lv 30 Lv 40 Lv 50 Lv 60
N 10440 19600 34500 53400 102240
R 20880 39200 69000 106800 204480
SR 36540 68600 120750 186900 357840
UR 62640 117600 207000 320400 613340

This card has only been obtained by the player once, so the number 1/2 can be seen underneath it. This card is NOT available to be limit broken until the player obtains another copy (or however many needed to get to the second number).

Limitbreaklvl1
In this instance, the player has enough cards to limit break, but they have not leveled up the card to its maximum level. The number of Card Energy shown on the black button shows how much it will cost to max level this card.

Limitbreakready

In this image, the player has enough duplicates of the card to be eligible for limit breaking AND the card level is at its maximum. Pressing the large orange button will Limit Break the card, increasing it's max level by 10.

Limitbroken
In this image, the player has max leveled the card after limit breaking, but does not have enough duplicates to take it to +2.
