You can't let anyone get away, that's the spirit of a detective! |
” |
He is a detective in the Third Investigation Division, which cracks down on xenomorphs and extraterrestrials.
He spends his days chasing after a certain thief. He is also a divorcee.
Appearance[]
Ignis is styled after film noir detectives, donning a 1940's fedora and trench coat. In reference to his namesake, his head is a lantern, with glass sometimes appearing to be shattered. He lacks human facial features, but emotes through the flame in his head, which can look like an eye. Although most of his body is covered, the visible skin on his neck and hands is a very pale grey.
His fedora is ash grey and has a stitched maroon band across it. His coat is ash grey with black and maroon splatters adorning it, and strands of fabric by the opening near his feet. Underneath, he wears a maroon and light-grey-striped shirt with a grey, maroon-trimmed vest over it. He wears a light grey tie, black dress pants, and black dress shoes. He wields a pair of handcuffs to arrest criminals and can conjure fire from his body at will.

Skills[]
Hero Skill - You've pissed me off!
Ignis allows the flames to engulf him, dealing the maximum amount of damage in an area around himself. He also sends out smaller pillars of fire to chase down enemies that are afflicted by his smoke.
Hero Ability - You're under arrest!
Ignis deals additional damage to enemies affected by his smoke. This additional damage is based on his current ATK stat (approx. 0.9x / 1.1x for normal attacks and cards respectively), rather than multiplying the damage dealt by an attack. The additional damage applies on each hit of an attack and is always affected by a target's defense stat, regardless of whether or not the original attack ignores defense.
Hero Action - Don't try and escape!
Ignis flings his handcuffs in a straight line in front of him, latching on and pulling himself to anything in his way. This grappling effect can hit Heroes, Keys and the walls of the stage. If Ignis grapples onto a hero, they will be pulled together, allowing Ignis to hit them with a flying punch and apply his smoke on them.

Trivia[]
- Ignis is the third hero to be added via a design competition, the first two being 13 and Thomas.
- In the book that Ignis holds during his key capture animation, a scribbled drawing of a criminal that Ignis is tracking can be seen. This criminal is No-Face Dullan, who was the character entered for the previous design competiton by Ignis' designer.
- Both Ignis and No-Face Dullan are inspired by mythological folklore: a Will-o'-the-wisp and a Dullahan respectively.
- Although Ignis does not have a mouth, his original reference art shows him with a glass panel unlatched in order to smoke.
- Ignis seemingly loves bagel sandwiches and references them in multiple voice lines.
